Come to the Night of Peace!

On September 24th, 7 PM, at de Balie in Amsterdam, everyone is welcome to join the night of peace.

Join the discussion on disarmament, security and human rights.

Learn about drones, killer robots and nuclear weapons.

Meet professionals who work in conflict zones and listen to inspiring interviews.

For example: 28-year old American Brandon Bryant operated armed drones that flew over Iraq and Afghanistan from inside a container in the US. After six years, he was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder. Thereafter, he left the army and received a document with his achievements: 1600 people were killed as a result of the missions he participated in. Journalist Frénk van der Linden will interview Brandon Bryant, while showing several film clips.

Noël Sharkey, Irish professor and expert of killer robots, will join us as well. He will talk about the future of warfare. How ‘clean’ is the use of drones and killer robots? Is technical progress always desirable?

Most of the programme will be in Dutch, except for the interview with Brandon Bryant and Noel Sharkey (10:15 – 11 PM) and some of the guests in the network cafe.

Entrance is free, please register at www.nachtvandevrede.nl (click ‘Ja, ik kom’ and fill in the form).

Peace. Are you in?
