2 – 27 July | UN Conference on the Arms Trade Treaty in New York
From 2-27 July, all countries of the world come together in New York to negotiate an Arms Trade Treaty (ATT). A robust arms trade treaty can make a difference for millions of people confronted with insecurity, deprivation and fear. Control Arms Members Amnesty International, IKV Pax Christi, and Oxfam Novib initiated Holland’s Top Lobbyist competition to help generate awareness about the treaty negotiations. The 20th World Congress of the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War will be held in Hiroshima from 24 to 26 August 2012. The Student Congress takes place from 22 to 23 August. More details can be found on ippnw2012.org.
21 August | ICAN campaign meeting
On Tuesday 21 August ICAN campaigner from around the world will share their experiences and collaborate on future action to advance a global ban on nuclear weapons. The meeting will build on the outcomes of the two-day ICAN conference in Vienna in April 2012.
