Hennis zwijgt over de kernwapens in Nederland

D66-kamerlid Sjoerd Sjoerdsma stelde vanmiddag tijdens het Vragenuur vragen over uitspraken van oud-premier Ruud Lubbers (CDA) over de aanwezigheid van kernwapens op vliegbasis Volkel. Minister van Defensie Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert (VVD) wil echter niet bevestigen dat in Nederland kernwapen liggen. 

Ondanks het vragenvuur van de oppositie hield Hennis haar lippen stijf op elkaar. "Ik doe geen mededelingen over de aanwezigheid van de wapens, noch over aantallen en locaties", zei Hennis vandaag in de Tweede Kamer.

Krista van Velzen is a former Dutch MP and is currently working as nuclear disarmament campaigner with PAX in The Netherlands.
